AT BERKSHIRE BUSK!: Week of July 18, 2024

Notable folk musicians and oddball acts can be found throughout Great Barrington all weekend.

Berkshire Busk! welcomes an all-new acrobatic duo to stun audiences of all ages on both Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. More notable folk musicians and oddball acts can be found throughout Great Barrington all weekend.

Friday Highlights: Red Trouser Show and the Dust Bowl Faeries

David Graham and Tobin Renwick are lifelong friends turned expert acrobats and comedians. The two halves of the Red Trouser Show got their start with the internationally acclaimed Circus Smirkus 20 years ago and have been delighting audiences on streets and stages ever since. Red Trouser Show is new to Berkshire Busk! but has been seen close by at Tanglewood, the Big E, Festival of Fools, and more.

Friday night’s Upper Railroad Street Stage will feature the Dust Bowl Faeries. The five-piece band from Hudson Valley features founder Ryder Cooley at the helm, and they describe their style as “dark carnival dream music.” Their eclectic style and charmingly strange song selection makes for a captivating show.

A roaming clown called “Ol’ Miss Money Bags,” musicians like Jaane Doe and Roger & Lenny, and face painter Raeah Rama can all be found throughout the rest of downtown.

Saturday Highlights: Harry and Karen & The Unexpected, Singer/Guitarist Natalie Lewis, and More

On Saturday, Harry and Karen & The Unexpected will take the stage opposite the Red Trouser Show on Railroad Street. Harry and Karen hail from Cleveland and specialize in improvisation.

Singer/guitarist Natalie Lewis, folk duo Jasperoo, and more will set up on sidewalks throughout downtown. Balloon artists will be twisting balloons for kids in front of Robin’s Candy in the afternoon and the evening.

Natalie Lewis is currently studying music education at the University of Vermont. Photo by Berkshire Busk! staff.

Extended Schedule on Saturdays

Rees Shad & The Conversations will return to Berkshire Busk! for a Saturday afternoon performance at Berkshire Mountain Distillers. In the morning, fans of folk and rock can visit Lee Rogers at the Great Barrington Farmers’ Market.
