Armed robbery at East Lee Package Store

The masked assailant used a handgun during the robbery and stole an unconfirmed amount of cash.

Lee — The town’s Police Department is looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the East Lee Package Store on 185 Water Street.
According to a press release issued by Chief of Police Craig DeSantis, the department received a 911 call at approximately 8 p.m. reporting the robbery.
By the time Sergeant Richard Roy and Officer Hunter Roosa arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled the store.
Officers from Lenox and Stockbridge Police Departments, along with officers from the State Police and its K9 Unit, tried to locate the suspect in the area.
After a search, officers confirmed that the suspect was no longer in the area and “there was no ongoing threat to the community.”
The masked assailant used a handgun during the robbery and stole an unconfirmed amount of cash.
One employee was assaulted during the robbery but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
Three employees were present at the time of the robbery and were all transported to Berkshire Medical Center for evaluation.
The incident is under investigation and anyone with witness information is asked to contact the Lee Police Department at 413-243-5530.
