Anthony E. Menard Sr., 74, of New Hampshire

The family of Anthony E. Menard will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Charles VanAusdall.

Anthony E. Menard Sr., 74, passed away on June 18, 2025, at home surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Pittsfield on October 13, 1950, he was the son of the late Antoine and Ella Warner Menard. He was raised in Great Barrington and attended local schools and earned his GED. He lived in New Hampshire for the past 22 years of his life.

Tony worked as a chef the majority of his life. He owned Star Pizza in Great Barrington. He had a candy-making business years ago with his late ex-wife. He also previously owned The Village Green in Sheffield and co-owned The Java House in Watertown, Mass., with his brother Phil. He worked at Dartmouth College for many years in Hanover, N.H. For 36 years, he worked every summer at Camp Walt Whitman, starting in 1988. He was fast friends with Bill Dorfman and Jed Dorfman. Tony made friends everywhere he went, and people were important to him.

Tony had a love for all animals and animals loved him.

Tony leaves his wife Heather (Bednarik) Menard; his son Anthony Menard Jr.; his daughter Jo-Ann Menard; his son William “Billy” Menard and his significant other Kylee Sargent; his daughter Tiffany Menard and significant other William “Will” Carle; his son David Menard; and his surrogate daughter Amanda-Lynn Cross and her husband Jason Cross. He also leaves his two brothers, Philias “Phil” Menard and Joseph Menard, along with four sisters, Ella Dean, Barbara Hickle, Florence Dooley, and Bernadette Menard. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Dale “Jenny” Menard; his two brothers, Peter and Charles Menard; and his two sisters, Marguerite Menard and Kathy Wilson.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Charles VanAusdall. Burial will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11 a.m., at South Lawn Cemetery in Piermont, N.H. Thomas F. ‘Walt’ Palivoda, 72, of Housatonic

Walt’s family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral service officiated by Deacon Ed Shaw at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Wyantenuck Country Club. Private burial will be at a later date.
