Anne Jost, 76, of Great Barrington

In keeping with Anne's wishes, no services will be held.

Great Barrington — Anne Elizabeth Nuchols Jost, 76, of Great Barrington, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 13, 1948, in Pittsfield., to Claire Serven Black and John Charles Nuchols. Anne was later welcomed into the family by her stepfather, William Barnes Black.

Anne grew up in New Lebanon, NY, and graduated from New Lebanon Central High School. Anne earned her degree in Education from the State University of New York at Cobleskill and the State University of New York at Oneonta. She spent the early part of her career working with children, serving as a nursery school teacher and a substitute teacher. She also worked for many years as a waitress. As her career progressed, she held the position of Director of Residence at Berkshire Meadows, where she retired after a fulfilling 40-year career.

Anne was the beloved wife of Glen A. Jost, and the two shared a wonderful life for 53 years. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Erin Manson (Stephen Manson), and her sons, Sean Jost (Rebecca Jost), Paul Jost (Heather Jost), and Eric Jost (Alicia Jost). Anne was a cherished grandmother to her granddaughters, Hadley, Ava, Peyton, Olivia, Sophia, and grandsons, Evan, Griffin, and Harrison.

Anne was a private woman who found joy in the quiet moments spent with her loved ones. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment with them. 

In keeping with Anne’s wishes, no services will be held. Her family will remember her in their hearts and cherish the memories they shared.

Last year, the event was held outside at Monument Mountain's track. However, four hours into the event, a microburst storm hit the track, destroying the event area. This year, event organizer Ray Gardino told The Berkshire Edge they are not taking any chances and will hold the event indoors.

Lynn B. Herzig, 75, of Pittsfield

A memorial service for Lynn will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m., at the Christian Assembly in Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private.
