Mrs. Ann B. Bristol, 93, of Main Street, West Stockbridge, died peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
A native and lifelong resident of West Stockbridge, Ann was born March 6, 1923 in the family home on Main Street, the daughter of Francesco Saverio and Rose Bruno Baldasarre. Upon graduation from the former Williams High School in Stockbridge in 1941, she attended the former Henry W. Bishop School of Nursing. She joined the Cadet Nurse Corps as a student and then, after graduation, became an RN. Continuing her education, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the American International College in Springfield and a master’s degree in Human Services from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y., graduating with honors. Ann’s dedication to nursing spanned a 48-year career. She was a visiting nurse, dire
ector of the VNA in Great Barrington, and completed her career as a supervisor at the former Willowood Nursing Home.
Ann was an avid traveler who loved to travel within the United States as well as abroad. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Arthur Bristol, on December 19, 1993. The couple was married on March 19, 1943. She was also predeceased by her brothers the Rev. William J. Baldasarre, Ernest C., George V., and Joseph A. Baldasarre; another brother, Francis S. Baldasarre, who was killed during WWII on April 2, 1943; as well as two sisters, Theresa J. Pons and Rosemary Maslowski. Ann is survived by her sister, Irene Norton, of West Stockbridge; and her nephew, Neil Maslowski, who was her caregiver for many years; as well as several other beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
