Andrea Louise Eichstedt, 68, of Sheffield

Andrea was a licensed hairdresser and shop owner, as well as a world-renowned ballerina and a black belt in mixed martial arts.

Andrea Louise Eichstedt, 68, of Sheffield, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Andrea was born on April 23, 1952 in Great Barrington, daughter of Leon and Marilyn (Kilburn) Phillips. She was a graduate of Mt. Everett High School class of 1970. Andrea was a licensed hairdresser, and owned and operated many stores for many years.

Andrea was also a world-renowned ballerina and a black belt in mixed martial arts. She is survived by her life partner of more than 30 years, Brian DeLand of Sheffield; one son, Thomas Eichstedt and wife Teresa of Mill River; two brothers, Leon “Butch” Eichstedt Jr. of Pittsfield and Bruce Eichstedt of Sheffield; two sisters, Norreen Johnson of Calif. and Deidre Scapin of Mill River; 10 grandchildren, Patrick, Brandon, Chelsea, Krista, Dasan, Anthony, Aiyana, Teyha, Natanni, and Scarlett; two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Lorelei; and many nieces and nephews. Andrea was predeceased by her grandparents, Dutch and Emeline Eichstedt.

The family of Andrea Louise Eichstedt will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 4–6 p.m. at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
