Alma Lee Rennie Schilling, 69, of Pittsfield

Alma had a love for music and for many years she was a member of the St. Mary’s Choir in Lee, St. Charles Choir in Pittsfield, Barbershop Quartet, singing in Harmony Inc.

Alma Lee Rennie Schilling, 69, of Pittsfield died Wednesday, March 8th at Mount Greylock Extended Care Center with her loving family by her side.

Born in Pittsfield on November 9, 1947 to the late George and Alma Lucy McGowan Rennie, she attended local schools. After school, she worked as a personal care attendant as a client supervisor, Sullivan Associates, Berkshire County ARC, and managed Goodwill, Salvation Army Thrift stores, and the Kmart coffee shop.

Alma had a love for music and for many years she was a member of the St. Mary’s Choir in Lee, St. Charles Choir in Pittsfield, Barbershop Quartet, singing in Harmony Inc., and was an associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph’s. Among her love of music, Alma’s greatest love was for her family.

She was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

Alma leaves her children Jeffrey and his wife Leanna Schilling of Housatonic, Dione LeBeau, Matt and his wife Debbie, all of Pittsfield; her siblings: Sandy Houghtlin of Pittsfield and her brother George and his wife Karen Rennie of Schnecksville, Penn., eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Alma was a 29 year friend of Bill W.

Besides her parents, Alma is predeceased by Billy Schilling, Sr., and her son, Billy Schilling, Jr.

The funeral of Mrs. Alma Lee Schilling of Pittsfield will be Monday, March 20, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church in Pittsfield celebrated by Father Peter Gregory. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, March 19, from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Alma’s memory may be made to either Feed the Children or The Sisters of St. Joseph’s, both in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
