Albina Rose Oppermann, 98, formerly of Housatonic, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, N.Y. 
Born and raised in Housatonic, she was an active member of the community and a devoted member of Corpus Christi Church (now Blessed Theresa of Calcutta) for over 91 years. A friend to all who knew her, Albina may best be remembered as “The Avon Lady,” having sold throughout the region for more than 40 years.
The loving mother of JoAnn Carlotto Harris of Latham, N.Y., and Penny Oppermann Jobin (Louis) of Fairfax, Va., Albina also leaves daughters-in-law Judy Carlotto of Housatonic and Sharon Carlotto of Delran, N.J., as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husbands Natale Carlotto and Lester Oppermann, her sons William and Robert Carlotto, and her grandson Jeffrey Harris.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Albina’s family on Saturday, February 13, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Birches-Roy Funeral HomeAlbina R Opperman, 33 South St., Great Barrington, Mass. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. A Christian burial will follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
