It is with our deepest sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our loving son, father, husband, brother, uncle, and cousin. Alan M. Decker, 42, of Monterey, born November 30, 1978 to Richard A. Decker and the late Beverly J. Besanceny, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning, July 25, 2021.
Alan went to Monument Mountain Regional High School and later met and married his wife of 18 years, Heather Miller Decker. They had three children, Tyler (21), Briana (14), and Devon (10).
Alan worked at his father’s business, Decker’s Auto Body, for over 25 years. He loved to work on cars, spend time with his family, and watch the Patriots. He was also an avid golfer.
Alan is predeceased by his mother Beverly Besanceny, his loving grandparents Ruth and Maurice Decker, and Peter Griffin.
Alan leaves behind his wife Heather Miller Decker, his three children Tyler, Briana, and Devon, and his father Richard Decker and his fiance Joanne Vargas. He also leaves six brothers and sisters Jessica Decker Hammer, Daniel Decker, Crystal Lynn Hankey, Krista VanCour, Christopher Vargas, and Adam Vargas, his grandmother Janice Crine, his in-laws Wayne and Debby Miller, Chris and Liza Miller, Evelyn Griffin Decker, and Sara Griffin.
Alan will be deeply missed by his children, wife, father, family, friends, co-workers, and all who knew him.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 30 from 4–7 p.m. at Birches–Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Burial to be held at St. James Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be made through the Birches–Roy website.
