Alan H. North, 77, of Lenox Dale

Calling hours for Alan H. North will be Tuesday morning, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Funeral prayers will be offered at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Michael Tuck, Pastor of St. Helena’s Chapel in New Lenox. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Alan H. North, 77, of Lenox Dale, died Tuesday, February 18, at his home. He was born in Pittsfield on August 12, 1947, the son of Herbert and Pauline Bardin North, and attended local schools, graduating from Lenox High School in 1966.

Following graduation, Alan enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1966 to 1970, a year of which he spent in Vietnam.

Alan was the owner and operator of North’s Services in Lenox, where he worked daily up to the time of his death. He was proud to have his son, who will continue to run the business, join him many years ago.

Alan was proud of his military service and was a member of the Conklin-Lane-Coakley VFW Post #12079.

Alan’s wife Linda Shaffer North, whom he married March 20, 1971, died April 30, 2022. He is survived by his two children, Christopher A. North (Brenda) and Lisa M. Wright (Scott Miller), both of Pittsfield; his grandchildren, Alana and Alyse Wright and Lucas North; his sister Paula Rhine Miller (Les) of Cheshire; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Matthew North on April 6, 2024, and his sister Terry Schulze.

Calling hours for Alan H. North will be Tuesday morning, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Funeral prayers will be offered at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Michael Tuck, Pastor of St. Helena’s Chapel in New Lenox. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory may be made to the Lenox VFW in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
