Adam Rand, 59, of Sheffield

Services will be held for immediate family only.

Adam Rand, 59, of Sheffield, passed away peacefully in his home on April 22, 2025, after a long battle with ALS.

Adam was born on April 6, 1966, to Lee and Charles Rand II of Boston. Adam spent his early childhood in Nantucket, Mass., where his love of fishing and water was born before moving to Sharon, Conn. It was here where he made many lifelong friends and later graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1984. He attended Hiram College in Ohio before settling in Connecticut.

Adam was a master of all trades, a seasoned contractor, and a practiced carpenter. He was always eager to learn and became a skilled woodworker in his later years of life. His work ethic was undeniable. Adam was passionate about his family, his work, and anything with an engine.

Adam leaves behind his loving wife Annie Rand; his children, Samantha Rand of Nantucket and Jack Rand of Canaan; his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Cindy Rand of Nantucket; Greg and Cindy’s children, Olivia, Maxwell, and Samuel Rand of Boston; as well as the mother of his children and former wife, Nancy Rand of Collinsville, Conn.

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.

Jeffrey E. van Lingen, 62, of Lenox

There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 14, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.

U Ba Win, 78, of Great Barrington

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 26, at the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College at Simon's Rock.
