A Concert for the Horses:  ButtonBall Barn hosts benefit for Blue Rider Stables after rabid skunk quarantine

Performance will featuring Kelsey Waldon with special guest She Returns from War

South Egremont — When a rabid skunk forced Blue Rider Stables into a 45-day quarantine earlier this fall, the South Egremont community felt the impact immediately. The beloved nonprofit therapeutic riding center—known for its connection between humans and horses—has continued caring for its herd daily, even as operations came to a halt and income dried up.

Now, neighbors are stepping up in true Berkshires fashion. On Tuesday, November 4, the newly reimagined ButtonBall Barn will host A Concert for the Horses, an evening of live music, food, and community spirit to support Blue Rider Stables.

The night will features acclaimed singer-songwriter Kelsey Waldon, bringing her soulful Kentucky-born blend of country and Americana, with Charleston-based artist She Returns from War opening the show.

“Blue Rider is one of those places that embodies the heart of the Berkshires—grounded in care, community, and connection. This concert is our way of giving back and helping them stay strong through this unexpected challenge,” says Heather Thomson, new owner of The ButtonBall Inn and ButtonBall Barn

Twenty percent of all ticket and beverage sales will be donated directly to Blue Rider Stables, with additional contributions accepted on site. Minnie’s Food Truck will be serving its signature sliders, fries, and pies throughout the evening.
