A celebration of humanity, faith, and the power of community: Multicultural BRIDGE and other organizations honor Martin Luther King Jr.

“This is a really important weekend, because Dr. King talked about creating a ‘Beloved Community,'” Multicultural BRIDGE CEO Gwendolyn VanSant told The Berkshire Edge. “BRIDGE is really about creating a beloved community through our solidarity projects."

THEATER REVIEW: ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ plays at the Majestic Theater in West Springfield through Feb. 15

What the company does here is create a world of uber-reality by stepping in and out of their roles to present themselves in a play intended to pry laughter out of a melodramatic situation. The level of success at the Majestic is as good as it gets... anywhere. The show is most enjoyable.

A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m., followed by a burial at St Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Visiting hours will be held at Birches-Roy Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Stockbridge Cemetery in the spring.
