Jean Furcht, 87, of Mount Washington

Wednesday, Aug 23 - Wherever Jean lived, she volunteered her time at her children’s schools and community organizations. Dear to Jean’s heart was helping organize the “behind the scenes” set-up, clean-up, and general workings of the annual Mount Washington church fair.

Albert Theriault, 77, of Becket

Friday, Aug 18 - He was last employed at Pioneers Dairy for seven years until retiring in 2000. He was chief of police in Becket from 1972 until 1976.

Nancy W. Heady, 88, of Great Barrington

Wednesday, Aug 16 - Nancy was a member of the Thursday Morning Club and the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary, and was a volunteer at the Fairview Hospital endoscopy department, a position which she loved and held until shortly before her death.

Bella Gorin, 104, of Lenox

Tuesday, Aug 15 - Bella will always be remembered as being ahead of her time, traveling into New York City as a young mother to visit the Margaret Sanger Birth Control Clinic, a pre-cursor to Planned Parenthood.

Richard Krzynowek, 70, of Egremont, former president of Isgood Realty

Tuesday, Aug 15 - He became the president of Isgood Realty in 1980, a position he held until his recent retirement. His broad knowledge of the marketplace, business acumen and personality made him the "go to" person amongst peers, earning him the title of the dean of Berkshire county real estate.

Pamela Bailey, 63, of Housatonic

Monday, Aug 14 - Pamela was a graduate of the Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 1972. She worked for 25 years as an office manager at G.A. Blanco and after at Berkshire Mountain Bakery.

Sandra Sexton, 82, of Lee

Wednesday, Aug 9 - Many people would remember her as the pharmacist at Thatcher’s Drug Store in the historic town of East Hampton, Connecticut, from 1962–1984 where she and Ken raised three children.

James A. Karpinski , 64, of Great Barrington

Wednesday, Aug 9 - James frequented the James A. Modolo Post #8348, enjoyed participating in the shoots at the Great Barrington Fish and Game, playing horseshoes, attending his children's sporting events as they grew up and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Nolan McMillan, 72, of Otis

Monday, Aug 7 - He worked as a mechanic for Boeing Aircraft, Derby Oil Refinery and for Coastal Power Plant in Connecticut, retiring from there in 2002.
