Virginia M. Palfini, 90, of New Marlborough

Monday, Feb 23 - She was very involved in her church, Immaculate Conception in New Marlborough where she was a member of the Willing Workers and for many years devoted her time to keeping all the Altar linens clean and pressed.

Frances Grossetti Antoniazzi, 91, formerly of Glendale

Thursday, Feb 19 - At the age of 48, Frances went to nursing school and graduated from the Pittsfield Vocational School of Nursing Class of 1972 with honors. After graduation, she did private duty for Norman Rockwell, Percy Musgrave, Gabriella Sedgwick, Margaret French Cresson and William Gibson.

Steven G. Pothul, 49, of Sheffield, farmer and graduate of Mt. Everett High School

Wednesday, Feb 18 - Steven was proud to be a farmer. He first started working on his family’s dairy farm in Sheffield and then for the past 13 years he worked for the Larkin & Batacchi Farm. He was an avid country and rock music fan who enjoyed concerts and outdoor events. He loved riding motorcycles, especially his Harley, to various gatherings around the country.

Dr. Dennis C. Marcus of New Marlborough

Wednesday, Feb 18 - Dennis C Marcus, M.D., adult and child psychiatrist of New Marlborough, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long illness.

Eli G. Katz, 80, of Lenox and Hollywood, Florida

Friday, Feb 13 - Eli was a pioneer in the use of computers in hospital engineering and facilities maintenance functions with one of the first successful software businesses, Maintenance Automation Corporation, for the industry.

Sean T. Storti, 40, of New Marlborough

Friday, Feb 13 - Sean graduated from Mount Everett Regional High School, class of 1992, after which he went on to art school in Maine and attended classes at Berkshire Community College. Sean was an extremely talented artist.

Allen S. Rubin, 74, owner of Berkshire Products in Housatonic

Monday, Feb 9 - In 1957 Allen worked with his father David Rubin at David Hats Incorporated. In 1959 the business was moved from Great Barrington to Housatonic. Mr. Rubin was a strong supporter of Berkshire Pulse: A Center for the Creative Arts. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots.

Helen L. Soldati, 89, of Great Barrington

Thursday, Feb 5 - Helen attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1943. She worked as a secretary at Home Gas in Housatonic.

David (Doc) Blanchard, 78, of Stockbridge

Wednesday, Feb 4 - Dave retired from Schweitzer-Mauduit Mills in Lee, Mass., with 32 years of services. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club.

Ruth C. Siok, 93, of Housatonic

Tuesday, Feb 3 - Ruth loved gardening and reading. At the Ramsdell Library in Housatonic, you’d be hard pressed to find a book without her name in it. She also had a tender heart for all animals and nursed many back to health.

Marjorie ‘Peggy’ Hainer, 63, formerly of Housatonic

Saturday, Jan 31 - If there was one word to describe Peggy that word is love. She loved people. She especially cherished spending time with her family; each one of her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She loved to laugh, she loved food, music, and dogs -- who loved her back.

Doretha Ann Smith Palmer, 86, Air Force veteran, of South Egremont

Wednesday, Jan 28 - A favorite family picture is one of Dottie rappelling off a cliff during Escape and Evasion School. From 1953 until 1955 Dottie served with the 6481st Medical Air Evacuation Group stationed in Seoul and Tokyo. While serving her country at war Dottie earned numerous commendations, including a battle star and was promoted to first lieutenant.

Arthur R. Mathieu Sr., 71, of Sheffield

Thursday, Jan 15 - Arthur was a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #23 in Sheffield and he was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
